World of Warcraft Laptops Will Draw all Kinds of Wows

  • 2006/11/1 0:00:00
  • Dell’s new World of Warcraft laptops are shaped like little treasure chests and priced like they are full of booty.  Mind you, they do pack plenty of punch, a little more than my desktop, but then my desktop cost me less than half the price.  Seriously, I am surprised that they did not release these with an Alienware badge on them.  The XPS M1730 World of Warcraft edition packs in a Core 2 Duo Extreme Edition, DX10 compatible SLI, Ageia mobile PhysX processor, illuminated keyboard and a built-in camera.  It looks good, if a little portly and I cannot help but think that one would be better advised to spend the $4550 on parts and build a desktop SLI beast.  Wait until February and you will be able to get DX10.1 cards or go the AMD route and drop in four reasonably priced cards.
The thing is, you don’t really need all of that power for playing World of Warcraft, I mean, didn’t it come out a few years ago?  Throw us some Crysis themed laptops, that is a game that needs a gutsy rig to be enjoyed.
